Tattersalls First Session Averages $79,744
Lexington, KY The
first session of Tattersalls Select Yearling Sale averaged $79,744,
up from last year’s average of $77,744. A total of 72 head grossed
$5,741,000. Eighteen yearlings brought more than $100,000.
Topping the first night’s
bidding was the Pine Chip-Ever To Excel colt purchased by Chuck
Sylvester for $300,000. The full brother to $616,257 winner was
consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing, agent for the Lindy Racing
Stable.
An Artsplace-Three Mile Island
colt, consigned by Preferred Equine for White Birch Farm, was
purchased for $240,000 by Gary Baker, as agent. The colt is a
half-brother to $1,371,525 winner Island Fantasy.
Michael Polansky was high
bidder on the night’s third sales topper, a colt by Artsplace-Authentic
She consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing, as agent for Southwind
Farm.
