Tattersalls Two-Session Average is $54,810

Lexington, KY — Yearlings by first crop sires The Panderosa and Self Possessed topped last night’s second session of the Tattersalls Select Yearling Sale. After two sessions a total of 187 yearlings have averaged $54,810. Last night’s $39,204 average was up 10 percent over comparable 2001 figures.

Monte Gelrod, as agent, paid $120,000 for The Panderosa-Hurricane Almahurst colt The Sopanos, from the Perretti Farms consignment. Jeff Gural was high bidder on New Ideal, a filly by Self Possessed-Lindy’s New Lady, consigned by Preferred Marketing, as agent for Lindy Farms.

Lady Wrestler, a filly by Muscles Yankee-Broadway Diamond, was taken for $115,000 by Chuck Sylvester from Peninsula Farm, as agent for Herb Liverman. Hunterton Sales Agency sold Amazon, a colt by Self Possessed-Emma Kash, as agent for Steve Stewart and the Galbraith Stable, for $110,000 to Chris Antonacci.
