Tattersalls Select Yearling Sale Wound Up
With Huge Gains
Lexington, KY Buoyed
by Walnut Hall Ltd.’s spectacular Saturday night session, Tattersalls
Select Yearling Sale wound up with huge gains for 2002. A total
of 487 yearlings averaged $38,240 and totaled $18,622,900. In
2001, 554 yearlings averaged $31,240 and grossed $17,351,400.
"2002 was a different market
place than a year ago," said David Reid, director of operations
for Tattersalls, referring to the tragedy of September 11, 2001.
"Also, we sold a better group of yearlings this year and we sold
few horses. The crowds were terrific and there was a lot of energy
in the arena."
