2004 Meadowlands Summer Mixed Sale
Meadowlands, NJ - The annual Tattersalls Summer Mixed Sale to be
held at the Meadowlands, slated for Sunday, July 18, will be closing for entries
on Wednesday, June 9. The sale, which will be conducted in the paddock, will be
held the day after the Meadowlands Pace.
Tattersalls has had great success outside its
home base at the Red Mile, including last January, when the Select Mixed Sale at
the Meadowlands realized a gross of $7 million for 272 horses sold, with an
average price of $25,799.
"We're having a great response to the upcoming
sale, and already have a number of strong entries for the catalog," said
Geoffrey Stein, general manager of Tattersalls. "People look forward to all the
sales at the Meadowlands, and holding this one during Meadowlands Pace weekend
will make it even more of an event. "We sold the 2004 Dexter Cup winner
Beissinger Hanover here last year for $62,000."
"It's a perfect sale for racehorses, whether
you're buying or selling. There's a month of racing remaining at the
Meadowlands, and the opportunities throughout the North America, particularly in
the Northeast and Ontario, remain outstanding," he said. "We're really looking
forward to building on the success of the January sale."
